The persistence of bad reporting and the reluctance of people to criticize it
Here’s another angle on the whole Musk hype thing. Consider all the journalists and commentators out there who are not in the pay of Musk and do not harbor ambitions to write a book about the guy. Why don’t they go mock Neil Strauss for this article?

Harmonizing and emojifying our GitHub issue trackers
A part of Locke Data’s mission is sharing R knowledge and tooling with the world for free. If you have a look at our GitHub account, you’ll see we’ve pinned six of our package repos. Furthermore, to make it easier to find all the R stuff we’ve packaged up, we’ve added an “r-package” repo topic to all packages: find them all via this URL. Adding such repo topics isn’t the only harmonization effort we’ve done to make it easier to maintain and promote our packages suite. In this post, at the request of Irene Steves, we shall explain why and how we semi-automatically harmonized and emojified our issue trackers with the help of GitHub’s V3 API and of the gh
package!
Poor Customer Service
![]() |

In today’s hyper-connected society, anyone can write a review of their poor experience and post it for the internet to read (and Google to index). I’m sure you’ve researched the reputation of an online retailer before making a purchase.I’m not suggesting that a vendor should always bend over and under the archaic “The customer is always right” mentality, but I’m all for the truth.Any customer who attempts to abuse the power they have, if they are not truthful about their experience, in an attempt to blackmail, should be called out by the merchant for the charlatans that they are. |

I Can’t Afford to Hire a Data Scientist. Now What?
By now, it’s no secret that Harvard University named Data Scientist the sexiest job of the 21st century. Yet unfortunately, not every company can afford to hire one of these little superheros - but there is hope(!) and, more importantly, a viable path forward for those organizations.
